A NEW books on prescription scheme is being launched on Wednesday, July 5, by Halton Council.

A list of 28 titles will provide adults living with long term conditions with advice, information and support on long-term conditions including pain, fatigue, sleeping problems, and mental health and wellbeing.

It will also include books on arthritis, bowel conditions, breathing difficulties diabetes, heart disease and strokes.

There will also be titles that cover general information and advice on living well with a long term condition and support for family and carers.

The drop in session is being held in room 11 at Kingsway Learning Centre on Victoria Square in Widnes from 2pm to 4pm.

All are welcome and refreshments will be available.

There will be an opportunity to see all the books from the collection, pick up leaflets and see how the scheme works.

There will also be the chance to see the other books on prescription collections.

The National Reading Well books on prescription for long-term conditions scheme will be available in Halton’s libraries.
