Crews tackle kitchen fire
FIREFIGHTERS tackled a kitchen fire in Runcorn last night.
Crews were called to a house on Wharfdale at around 8.15pm after an unattended cooker caught fire.
Firefighters used a hose reel to put out the blaze and a large fan to clear the smoke.
Earlier in the evening crews dealt with a railway embankment fire in Widnes.
Around 50 square metres of grass was ablaze shortly before 7pm near Watkinson Way.
Crews used a hose reel jet to deal with the fire.
