Firefighters tackle rubbish fire on West Bank Street in Widnes
FIREFIGHTERS tackled a large rubbish fire in Widnes.
Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze on West Bank Street at 6.15pm last night.
A mattress was torched in an under passage in Runcorn on Monday.
Firefighters suspect the fire on the Southern Expressway near Hallwood Park was started deliberately at around 9.15pm.
Police attended the incident.
