CHILDREN can now learn how to play tennis free of charge
Tennis for Kids, a new Lawn Tennis Association initiative has been launched.
Qualified coaches are offering expert tuition to give more youngsters the chance enjoy the experience of playing on court.
From being shown how to hold a racket to developing a rally, children will learn all the essentials that are key to encouraging them to fall in love with tennis.
They will discover that it’s not only a great way to stay active it is also a social sport where they will develop valuable life skills such as respecting one another and being part of a team.
Heath Tennis Club in Runcorn is offering a free six week course and free racquets for children aged five to eight.
Head coach Chris Forrest said: “This is aimed at new starters who have not played before.
“Places are limited and are going fast.”

The Heath Tennis Club is also running a Tennis Xpress course for adult beginners, parents who may wish to learn so they can play with their children.
This is not free. A six week starter course costing £48 starts on April 24.
