Firefighters tackle bin fire on Vicarage Road, Widnes
FIREFIGHTERS tackled a bin fire in Widnes last night.
Crews were called to reports of a fire in a bin compound on Vicarage Road at 8.15pm.
They used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.
Crews also dealt with a dishwasher fire in Runcorn.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze in the kitchen of a house on Bunbury Drive, Runcorn, shortly before 7pm on Wednesday.
A high pressure fan was used to clear the smoke.
Crews were at the scene for just over an hour.
