A CHIMNEY caught fire in Widnes.
Firefighters used two appliances to tackle the blaze on Blackburne Avenue shortly after 9.15am on Monday.
The fire was located on a roof truss beside the chimney breast.
A roof ladder was used to remove tiles from the base of the chimney to put out the fire.
A thermal imaging camera was then used to make sure the fire had not spread.
