FIREFIGHTERS tackled a fire at a chip shop in Widnes after treating a man suffering from facial burns.
Crews were called to Cronton Fish Bar 2 on Cronton Lane at 11.30am after a fire broke out in the kitchen.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews administered care to one casualty suffering from slight burns and called an ambulance.”
A spokesman for North West Ambulance NHS Trust said: “We received reports that a male patient had burns to the face.”
Paramedics tended to the casualty and took him to Whiston Hospital.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet and dry powder to tackle the blaze.
Three fire appliances dealt with the incident.
