THE M56 was closed this afternoon after a car caught fire.
A vehicle fire near to junction 12 with the Weston Point Expressway closed the westbound carriageway.
Lanes two and three have since reopened, but lane one remains closed with traffic slow back to junction 11 at Preston Brook.
A 50mph speed limit was also imposed on the eastbound carriageway due to smoke in the road.
