A RUNCORN primary school is celebrating after gaining its first Investors in People Standard.

Bridgewater Park on Plantation Close in Castlefields has been recognised as a ‘good place to work’ with ‘high expectations’ after a rigorous assessment.

Leadership and management came under scrutiny and employees were interviewed and invited to complete questionnaires.

Lessons were observed and checks were made to ensure employees received ongoing support and had opportunities to develop their training and skills.

In a detailed report, assessors said: “Staff are clearly passionate about the future of the school.

“Good practice is being demonstrated around the level of trust between leaders and people.

“The professional, positive and open way in which people have engaged in the process is a credit to Bridgewater Park.”

Principal Paul Holloway said: “I am very proud of achieving this accreditation since it recognised the achievements that the school has made in creating a school community that works together to achieve the best outcomes for our pupils.

“It also celebrates the commitment and passion of the staff who dedicate themselves to providing the highest quality provision for our children.”
