I AM writing in response to the ‘wrong place for new park’ letter in the World on June 22.
I am absolutely delighted with Halton Council’s decision to build a play area next to St Mark’s Church in Beechwood.
This means a lot. Children in the area will have somewhere to play safely without the need to travel on a car journey.
It seems to me that the local NIMBYS (not in my back yards) are furious because it will be located near their homes.
The solution is simple – do not buy a house next to council land.
Also as there is currently an obesity crisis in the country children need plenty of exercise, and this will be a perfect way to improve the health of our kids.
As a resident of Beechwood my daughter will have somewhere to play where I can get to on foot, saving congestion and cutting down on pollution.
I am sick to death of negative people trying to complain about a good thing in our area.
Thank you Halton Council.
