A YOUNG Widnes schoolgirl has had her long blonde hair cut to help sick children.

Kacie O’Neill, aged six, donated more than eight inches to the Little Princess Trust which makes real hair wigs for children who lose their hair through chemotherapy.

She was inspired by her great granddad Clive Burch, from Ditton, who has cancer.

Her mum, Hayley, aged 28, of Bishops Way, Halton View, said: “She is a very kind and loving girl.

“She saw a video on Facebook and said she would like to donate her hair.

“Her great granddad has cancer and he absolutely adores her.”

Collections at the Eight Towers pub and Tesco, where her mum and dad, Terry, aged 30, both work are still raising funds.

Kacie, a pupil at Moorfield Primary School, had her hair cut at Kyasha salon in Gerrard Street.

Hayley added: “Kacie was very excited.

“She has always had long hair. Her friends were very surprised when she went to school with short hair.”
