FIREFIGHTERS tackled two arson attacks within 20 minutes yesterday.
Vandals torched trees in Netherfield, Widnes just before 1pm on Sunday, June 21.
Minutes earlier crews tackled a grass fire at Runcorn Hill.
It is the latest in a spate of arson attacks at this beauty spot in Highlands Road.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The crew had to make their way to the incident on foot because its location meant the fire engine was unable to get close enough.
“They used hand extinguishers to put out the fire.”
Anyone with information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101.
