PEOPLE all over Runcorn and Widnes have been watching the solar eclipse this morning - here are some of your best pictures.

Although there was some cloud cover over Cheshire, the sky eerily dimmed and the temperature dropped.

The UK will not see a solar eclipse on this scale again until August 2026. The phenomenon happens when the moon passes between the Sun and the Earth.

We'd love to see more of your pictures - email barbara.jordan@nqnw.co.uk or tweet us @runcornworld. Alternatively, post on our Facebook page here.

We'll be adding to the picture gallery throughout the day, so keep checking to see if your photo has been featured!
