RESIDENTS at a Widnes care home held a ‘great blooming tea party’ and raised £250 for Marie Curie.
Around 40 relatives and friends supported the event at Trewan House in Ditchfield Road.
Activities co-ordinator Tracey Naughton, aged 45, from Upton, said: “There was a really bubbly atmosphere and lots of laughter.
“Residents’ families and our cook baked cakes and we invited guests to guess how many cups of tea are drunk in Britain every day.
“The answer is 165 million!”
Tracey wishes to thank two Widnes residents who offered to bake.
Andy Martin, aged 56, from Rose Crescent created cup cakes decorated with flowers and Sue Myler, aged 63, from Clincton View made several lemon drizzle cakes.
