A WIDNES gymnast is jumping for joy after success in the European championships.
Trampolinist Olivia Kenny, a 14-year-old pupil at SS Peter and Paul Catholic College, won two silver medals as a member of the GB squad in the under 18 category.
Her proud mum, Nicky, aged 41, said: “This was a fantastic achievement.”
Olivia is already the north west under 16s and elite champion.
She competes as an individual and member of a synchronised display team.
She hopes to make her debut at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020.
She trains 20 hours a week and hopes to qualify for the world championships in Florida in November.
She and is appealing to local businesses for sponsorship to help fund her training.
Her kit, travel and accommodation cost around £4,000 last year.
Anyone wishing to help can call Nicky on 07979 803302.
