WIDNES Vikings has teamed up with Widnes Rotary Club to help local chidlren.
Rotarians have pledged to donate the proceeds from their gala dinner on Friday, May 16 to the Vikings’ junior community programmes.
Vikings chief executive officer James Rule said: “Widnes Vikings prides itself on being a community focused club. There is perfect synergy between ourselves and the Rotary Club and the fantastic work they do in the local community.
“As the partnership between the two organisations continues to strengthen, I was excited when they offered to support the work of our community programmes.”
Michael Aldridge, Widnes Rotary Club’s chairman of community and vocational community, said: “Our children are the future of tomorrow. That’s why we got involved with Widnes Vikings and the club’s children-based community programmes.”
The five course meal and entertainment will be held at the Select Security Stadium.
Radio DJ Roy Basnett will compere the evening, with entertainment from the Rockabellas and The Bogus Brothers.
Dinner is served at 7.45pm.
