A CARNIVAL themed Halton Against Hate has been hailed a success.
More than 80 young people joined in African dancing and drumming and contributed to a graffiti mural.
They tasted a selection of ethnic food and browsed round market stalls.
The free event was held at the CRMZ youth centre in Kingsway, Widnes.
Halton Clr Ged Philbin, board member for children and young people, said: "It was good to hear so many people came along and enjoyed the events. And I am sure they took something positive away back to their families and friends.
"Staff are keen to promote different cultures and diversity, the Halton Against Hate event was held to educate those who attend in a fun and creative way.”
The free event coincided with Black History month.
The carnival was organised by Catch-22 on behalf of Halton’s Children’s Trust and Halton Council as part of an on-going commitment to improve opportunities for all children and young people living in the borough.
