Coronation Street’s Daniel Osbourne will betray his dying wife Sinead when he kisses Bethany Platt.

In scenes which will air next Monday, Daniel, played by Rob Mallard, will seek comfort in the arms of Bethany Platt, played by Lucy Fallon, as he struggles with his wife’s terminal cancer diagnosis.

Viewers will see Daniel and Sinead, played by Katie McGlynn, celebrate an early Christmas with baby son Bertie as they try to make lasting memories for his future.

But a row will break out when he tries to tell Sinead, who was diagnosed with cervical cancer while pregnant last year, she needs to rest and she tells him to get out of their flat.

As he goes out for air, Daniel is comforted by friend Bethany, who has been harbouring a crush on him, and goes in for a kiss.

The moment will be broken when Daniel’s father Ken Barlow (William Roache) witnesses the embrace and orders Daniel home to his wife.

He will be left facing the choice of whether to keep the secret or reveal the truth to his wife in her final days.
