A FRIENDLY green monster is to light up an iconic Liverpool landmark this Christmas.
Shrek, Kung-Fu Panda and the Penguins of Madagascar will illuminate St George’s Hall as part of the city's One Magical Christmas campaign.
It is a first for the city as the Grade II listed building celebrates much-loved animated stars.
Richard Hollis, head of UK consumer products at DreamWorks said:
“It’s very exciting to be able to bring our wonderful lantern experience to the UK for the very first time.
“We chose Liverpool because it is an iconic city, a true cultural capital known all over the world for its great events -and the stunning location of St George’s Hall is the perfect setting for DreamWorks Lights.
“We’re looking forward to seeing eyes young and old light up when they experience our large scale illuminated lantern characters for the first time.”
Visitors will also have the opportunity to get up close with their favourite characters through a special green-screen photo experience and shop.
DreamWorks Lights will be open daily at 10am until 7pm from 26th November 26 until January
