REVIEW: I Got Love For You 1980s

WE fired up the DeLorean and set the time machine to February 7, 2020.

Destination: Parr Hall, Warrington.

For one night only the venue was transformed into an 80s disco, complete with dayglow costumes and ‘Choose life’ T-shirts.

If you, like me, lived through the 80s or loved the Stranger Things soundtrack, welcome back to the decade some people say music forgot.

The atmosphere was brilliant from the moment the band, Electric Dreams, struck the first chord. They had the crowd up from the first song with a playlist that included Don’t Leave Me This Way, Love Shack, Never Gonna Give You Up, The Final Countdown, Livin’ On A Prayer and a Madness medley.

It was a rollercoaster. The four-piece band were joined by five singers (sometimes a sixth if you include the compere) and a backdrop of electronic graphics added to the vibe.

The outfits were brilliant and the graphics came into their own when the classic, Together in Electric Dreams, came on.

The second half was an explosion of Bananarama, Duran Duran and Madonna but the treat of the night was the Wham finale, complete with cheesy costumes and dance moves, which brought the house down
