What about the workers? (From Runcorn and Widnes World)

Ineos workers raise concerns

I write on behalf of a group of us who are employed at Ineos to raise our concerns with the misrepresentation that is being spread round the community.

The importance of jobs in the current climate is uppermost and we should be looking to protect jobs as best we can, not looking to destroy them.

However, in Runcorn the Labour councillors seem hell bent on chasing away employment, choosing to listen to a few people who do not understand the chemical industry and who chose to live near to it.

Many of us who are employed at the site also live in the community and are also their constituents (many of us voted Labour at the last election).

They need to remember that there are two sides to every story. We are disgusted that the Labour councillors in Runcorn have already made their mind up.
