I’VE been reading with interest people’s views about Sammy Evans’s scrap heap that can be seen when driving into Widnes from Runcorn.
All can say is build it higher Sammy, because when you think about all the other excuses for art like the Angel of the North, the iron statues on Crosby beach, the 10 fingers pointing upwards along the Ford road with the other one outside the old airport, what are they about?
What do they mean? What do they represent?
At least the Iron Mountain is a sign that somebody is keeping people in work in this area.
