AFTER reading that the new bridge may open earlier than expected I have not yet seen a full map of the route.

As for the Silver Jubilee Bridge, I remember it being constructed from day one.

The sight of the two sides slowly going towards each other was awesome.

When it opened in 1961 I was one of many who went to watch Princess Alexandra cut the tape.

Today the colour of the arch close up and from a distance is absolutely fantastic.

It annoys me that the bridge has not been given more publicity on the TV and elsewhere.

It is truly a brilliant piece of architecture and deserves its place among the bridges of the UK.
