New High Sheriff of Cheshire Sarah Callander Beckett
I WRITE in response to the letter in last week’s World about the appointment of High Sheriff Sarah Callander Beckett, claiming her address is not in Cheshire.
The privately-owned country estate Combermere Abbey lies on the Cheshire/Shropshire border in the most southern parish of Cheshire, Dodcott cum Wilkesley.
The anomaly is that Combermere Abbey has a Whitchurch, Shropshire, address and postcode rather than Nantwich, Cheshire, but it is firmly in the county of Cheshire.
