I WISH someone would do something to sort out the nightmare junction in Widnes town centre.
I drive through it at least twice every day on my way to and from work and almost always witness a ‘near miss’.
I have lost count of the number of cars that jump red lights.
This morning we were held up yet again because queuing traffic was blocking the carriageway.
Drivers heading towards Fiddlers Ferry had to sit through at least four changes of traffic lights as we simply couldn’t get through vehicles bound for the bridge.
Surely a simple solution is to hatch the junctions so motorists would be barred from blocking junctions. It would act as a warning and make drivers realise they need to keep access clear.
I fear it is only a matter of time before there is a serious accident at this junction. People could be killed or seriously injured.
