REGARDING the new zebra crossing on High Street, Runcorn, it is only a matter of time before someone is knocked down on it as every time I have used it drivers have failed to stop.

This includes the buses coming out of the bus station.

I have been insulted by drivers when I’ve pointed to the Belisha beacon.

Not noticing the new crossing is no defence and the drivers seem unaware The Highway Code states that pedestrians have right of way.

I am young enough to anticipate drivers who are not going to stop, and to step back, but an old person or youngster might not be so lucky.
