HAVING read the latest CQC report on Warrington and Halton NHS Foundation Trust I was quite surprised to see the trust’s home webpage headline reflecting on the report , 'Our CQC report, caring and effective’.
True, the CQC report does rate caring and effectiveness in the trust as good across the board in all of its services.
But what the trust is not telling you is when the CQC asked the question ‘Are services at this trust safe, responsive and well led?’, the answer the CQC came back with was it requires improvement.
Improvements are required in the safety domain for the following areas: medical care, critical care, maternity and gynaecology, services for children and young people and outpatients and diagnostic imaging.
When people go into hospital top of their priority list is to be safe and come home better than they went in.
Warrington and Halton NHS Foundation Trust needs to improve quickly.
