LAST week’s ‘trolley fury’ letter in which a reader said he was fed up seeing children sitting among the food in supermarket trolleys sparked a big debate.
Here are some of the responses:
PARENTS can’t win.
If the child was out of the trolley running wild you would be having something to say about that.
Anne-Marie Graham
IF my child wants to stand in the trolley round all my food then she can.
It’s not done me any harm with regards to eating the unhygienic food that’s packaged.
Kelly Massey
MY son is nearly 11 and still goes in the trolley because he’s autistic.
It keeps him safe while I can get my shopping.
It’s that or we would starve.
Rachel Delacey Spencer
THIS person is going on about hygiene.
What about all the people who touch the food packets before you go and buy something?
How do you know they have washed their hands before going the toilet? Germs are everywhere, not just on kids.
Tamlyn Russell
WE get two trolleys.
One my three-year-old sits in because she would try and put everything in the shop in that trolley and the other my eight-yearold child with social and communication difficulties sits in, depending on her mood, as she wanders and hides.
How dare you presume children are being mollycoddled because they are being kept safe.

MAYBE he should buy his own trolley he can wipe with antibacterial cloths.
He should be more concerned about getting his shopping done than being a nosy busy body as to what everyone else is doing.
