IT’S great to see a supermarket war as all the stores vie for our custom.
After disappointing sales at the end of last year, they are fighting to get us through their tills.
In Halton, we’re spoilt for choice with Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl, Iceland and the Co-op all battling it out with special offers.
You really can save money on fresh food and everyday items like bread and milk.
I’ve never seen the Aldi and Lidl car parks so busy. They are becoming more popular than ever before. You can get so many good quality items now, often far cheaper than with the big giants.
It’s fantastic to see so much choice. With bills going up, we all need to try to save money.
I love shopping and don’t mind mooching round for the best deals.
But I feel sorry for people who don’t have their own transport or are elderly or infirm. It’s not easy if you have to rely on just one shop.
Perhaps we could all look out for our vulnerable neighbours and see if they need a hand.
