LIKE me, a lot of pensioners like to get up early and go out shopping.

But, to get on a bus before 9.30am, it costs me £1.80 because the free bus pass only kicks in at 9.30am.

I think it is disgraceful that we should be penalised like this.

I am speaking up on behalf of all pensioners because I think we should be able to go to town and come back without having to face these charges.

There are also occasions when I have an early hospital or doctor’s appointment and need to travel before 9.30am.

Why should we be forced to wait until 9.30am to have a free bus ride?
