I WAS reading your page regarding traffic and rush hour road rage last week.
Most days I am on the A557 Watkinson Way driving towards the bridge. If you are not on this road before 7am, the traffic queues can build up. The amount of road rage I see is unreal. I have been a victim of it but I have also given it back.
The problem is it’s a dual carriageway that goes in to one lane so a lot of drivers, like myself, use the outside lane as that’s what it’s for. But when you get to the end of the carriageway and try to filter in, other car users won’t let you in.
Can the council or the highways not just put up a couple of simple road signs? The first sign should say ‘Use both lanes’, the second should say ‘Merge in turn’.
I think this would reduce some drivers’ frustration.
