Vikings are the reel deal!

The list of new sponsorship partners for the Vikings continues to grow and next to be unveiled is REEL Cinemas whose logo is emblazoned on the left breast of the clubs playing and replica jerseys in Super League XVII. It will also feature on the perimeter advertising boards around the ‘i-Pitch’ at the Stobart Stadium Halton throughout the 2012 season.

REEL Cinemas opened its latest multiplex in mid-October at the all-new Hive Leisure Park in Widnes and in doing so, offered the town its first big screen cinema facility since 1983. The state of the art venue boasts 5 screens in total, complete with Dolby digital surround sound, modern seating, a café bar, confectionary kiosk and a box office.

Following the link-up with the Vikings, REEL Cinemas Operations Manager Muhammad Faisal outlined his hopes for the future; “We are proud to be a partner of Widnes Vikings rugby league club and offer our best wishes to both the club and its supporters for the 2012 season.

“The town of Widnes is an extremely welcoming and community-focussed town and we’re confident our partnership with the Vikings will prove beneficial for both parties.

“In many ways our philosophy is the same as the Vikings in the sense that we like to offer our customers REEL entertainment. In the coming weeks and months, we will be unveiling a whole host of exciting opportunities and special offers for the fans of the club and we hope to see as many of them as possible at our fantastic facility.”

Muhammad’s enthusiasm is shared by Vikings’ chief executive Julie Gaskell; “Reel Cinemas are a great partner and have provided the people of Halton with a fantastic facility. In addition to being a main partner, REEL Cinemas will also be sponsoring the Viking Vixens, our all new cheerleading squad.

“We are delighted that REEL is on-board, they are local and are interested in being local and supporting both the club and its community, we are looking forward to working with them closely over the coming season.”
