MORE decisions on which players will not be retained for next season are imminent.
It has put certain pressures on the players, who are busting a gut in training to prove their worth.
But with that comes anxiety which coach Denis Betts sees creeping into some aspects of some players’ performances.
Betts said: “We are in one of those strange periods again where we have to let players know now about next year. We have a duty to give those players an opportunity to seek other clubs if they are not going to be here, that August deadline does, however, make it a very anxious place to be.
“I see the lads’ endeavour and effort in training every week, but i am also seeing a bit of anxiety which manifests itself in these situations when players try a little bit too hard to do things to stand out.”
