PAUL Cullen has welcomed the swift response by the RFL over suggestions French side Toulouse could apply for a Super League spot without ticking the Grand Final box.
The report produced a storm at the start of the week - but has since brought a clarification from the governing body.
Cullen said: “I read the piece and never believed a word of it and am delighted that the RFL have made whoever was responsible retract that statement.
“It rattled a number of our supporters because Super League franchises are a touchy subject in this neck of the woods.
“I am pleased that the RFL have acted quickly to quash it and let everyone know that we are all sticking to the rules.”
