WIDNES Vikings half-back Tom Gilmore has committed his immediate future to the club by signing a new two-year deal.

Gilmore, 22, a real success story of the Vikings youth structure has played on the international stage with England Youth, has made 17 Super League appearances following his debut in 2014, as well as impressing on a loan spell at London Broncos last year.

Gilmore, signed his new contract which will mean he stays a Viking until the end of 2018 season.

Talking about the deal the local lad, from Ditton said;

“My plan has always been to stay at Widnes. My ambition is to become the first choice scrum-half here and be a part of the club as it moves forward in the future.

“I am enjoying my time at my home town club and look forward to developing my game over the next two years”

Denis Betts, Vikings head coach, added: “Tom is really talented young man with a mature head on his shoulders and has huge potential to become a successful player here at Widnes.

“He has developed as a player since he graduated into the first team squad and has now become a role model for the younger players in the squad to look to for advice.

“I am excited for what the future holds for Tom”.
