WINGER Stefan Marsh has become the latest member of the Widnes Vikings squad to commit their future to the club after signing a new two-year deal.

Marsh, who has enjoyed a flying start to the season with nine tries so far, has signed a new contract tying him to the club until the end of the 2018 season.

The 25-year-old former Wigan man said he could see “big things” in the future for Vikings and said he is happy he can continue to be a part of it.

“I want to take this opportunity to thanks Denis Betts and the coaching staff for the opportunity to extend my contract with the Vikings,” he said.

“I am thoroughly enjoying my time here at Widnes and extending my contract means I can continue to work hard every day with my mates and work towards finding out what the Club can achieve.

“I see big things in the future and I am excited to be part of it.”

Marsh first joined the club on loan from Wigan in 2010 before signing a permanent deal in 2012 and going on to make 90 Super League appearances for the Vikings.

Head coach Dennis Betts expressed his delight at securing another of his key players to a new contract.

“I'm excited by what Stefan brings to the squad, he has grown with us and year on year he has shown what he can achieve with his hard work and determination,” he said.

“Stefan's flexibility to play in any back line position is a great supplement to the squad."
