BRADFORD'S participation in The Qualifiers has been a rollercoaster ride with James Lowes’ men either scoring or conceding 40-plus points in all three matches so far.

A comfortable opening weekend win against Sheffield Eagles was followed by a drubbing at Wakefield. But the real eye-opener came last time out when they became the first Championship side to beat Super League opposition in The Qualifiers with a 41-10 thrashing of Salford.

Denis Betts added: “I always thought Bradford were the dark horses in this competition.

“It’s a side that’s been built to try to get back into Super League. They’ve got plenty of Super League experience in there.

“They’ve steadily gone about their business this year and James has done a really good job in putting some confidence in them.

“They went really close a couple of times this year with Leigh who have been the best team in the Championship.

“I’m sure they would have liked to have finished top of the Championship but for them I think it was more about getting to this stage in really good shape.

“You were always going to get a reaction to what happened to them at Wakefield. That will have caused a ripple effect through the club and everybody turned up a bit different at home against Salford.

“Their home form this year has been great.

“It’s going to be tough to go there and get a result, but that’s what I expect us to do.”
