VETERAN second row forward Danny Tickle insists he is ready and raring to go against former club Halifax this Sunday despite spending the last three months on the sidelines.

Tickle’s last game for the Vikings was in the 22-20 defeat at Warrington back in early May, but he’d like nothing better than to help his team start their Super 8s campaign with a win at The Shay.

He said: “It was a 12-week injury and you can do as much as you want out on the training field, but I think I’m ready for a game now.

“It’ll be the coach’s decision whether I play or not this week but I’m in full training with the lads now which is great.

“I’m doing my very best and working really hard to put myself up for selection.”

The Vikings need to finish in the Top 3 in The Qualifiers to secure their place in Super League for 2016.

A fourth of fifth place finish would see them compete in the Million Pound Match to try to maintain top-flight status.

Tickle is aiming his sights a little higher.

He added: “We know if we play to our potential we’re more than capable of beating any of the other teams.

“We’ve got Halifax first up and they’ve played well to make the Top 4 in the Championship having won their last nine on the bounce.

“We need to approach every game like it’s a knockout game and we certainly can’t take Halifax lightly.

“We want to finish top and we’re more than capable of doing that.

“We’ll keep working hard for one another and I’m sure the results will come our way.”
