VIKINGS’ first ever Dream Team member Kevin Brown believes the squad’s hard work has paid off – but there is still more reward to come, writes Mike Critchley.

He has urged the team not to “wimp out” in the Super League play-off series after surpassing preseason goals this term.

Brown, who has earned individual plaudits for his stringpulling at stand off, has been a key component of the Vikings charge up the table and foray into the last four of the Challenge Cup.

Brown said: “A few times this year we have had to re-evaluate our goals because of our improvements meant that we had already achieved them.

“We don’t want to be happy with what we have already done – we want to do ourselves justice in the play-offs, not just wimp out.”

Warrington come into the game battle-hardened by wins over St Helens and a narrow defeat by reigning champions Wigan and will start as favourites.

Brown knows about Wolves’ strengths, but expects Vikings to raise their game.

“Playing Warrington at any stage is massive, no matter what is at stake, but being a knockout game makes it even spicier,” he said.

“We have nothing to lose – we know we are underdogs.

Warrington are a fantastic side with individuals across the park who can hurt you. But we are confident with what we can do and just want to go there and do ourselves proud.”
