VIKINGS Board member Roddy Snedden has increased his share in the Club and furthered his sponsorship deal for the next Super League season.

It’s the second time in the space of 12 months that Snedden has plunged more finance into the Club after seeing the major strides taken this year both on and off the pitch.

The Glaswegian businessmen, who joined who joined the Vikings Board of Directors in June 2013, is Managing Director of Runcorn based Electrod and he says it was the easiest business decision he’s had to make.

He said: “I’ve increased my stakeholding in the Club by 5%, so I now have 20% ownership.

“I’ve also agreed to sponsor the training kit for the Club in 2014 and I’m delighted to do so.

“There’s been a lot of hard work that’s gone on at the Vikings and I recognise that. I have a good feeling about the Club and the way it’s heading. My confidence is running as high as everybody else’s and I want to see the Club flourish.

“The current Board are all working together and we have a clear picture of where we want to go with the Club. We all feel the same way and you don’t normally get that within a lot of organisations, so it’s a real plus point.

“Widnes Vikings has a bright future and I’m pleased to be a part of it.”

James Rule, fellow Director and CEO of the Vikings, said: ‘I’m very proud of the fact that we have built a Board structure that has like-minded individuals within it.

“Each and everyone of us share the same moral and business philosophy.

“Roddy is immensely passionate about our Club on so many levels. His business, Electrod, has recently extended the sponsorship arrangement with our training range and he’s a really community focused man.
