DUK Brewer F.C. 0 Bridge Timber F.C. 6Bridge progressed to the semi final of the harry tabb memorial trophy after a tough qtr final against rivals DUK Brewer.it was all square after 90 minutes with DUK having the better of the first half and Timber matching them in the second but as soon as extra time started Bridge showed their class and took the lead when Paul Wilson, on as a timber substitute put his head in between defenders to give Bridge a 1-0 lead.Within 3 minutes Kev Ward doubled the lead with a great right footed shot from 20 yards which left brewers keeper flat footed. Liam Sweeney added a third after good work from Timbers m.o.m Louis Watson with a good angled drive and again Sweeneys good run and shot gave Bridge a 4-0 lead after his shot came back off the post but he reacted quickest and sent the keeper the wrong way to give Bridge a 4-0 lead. Thomas Whalley was introduced and after a mix up in the brewer box he intercepted the ball and slotted home for his 7th goal of the season before Liam Sweeney finished the rout with his hat trick after being put through by Whalley, Sweeney found the corner to give a 6-0 win. Timber had some good performances with Andy Stringer making a number of important saves to keep it 0-0 and Lee Evans. Ste Coady and Dave Tierney keeping brewers forwards at bay. Kev Patterson and Paul Hives creating e majority of Bridges chances and the versatile Jay o Brien playing out of position, Lewis Buckley causing problems down the left side, The scoreline maybe flattered Bridge a little but the game was well handled by referee Colin Ellis.
