NKW Landscapes F.C. 1 Bridge Timber F.C. 3 The eagerly awaited league match between NKW and Bridge Timber expoloded into action in the 5th minute after NKW was awarded a penalty after a clumsy tackle in the Bridge box, Ex timber player Gary Jacques stepped up and despite Andy Stringer going the right way,Jacques found the net to put NKW 1 up. The game swung form end to end with Evans for Nkw going close and Karl Thomas unluckily seeing a goal disallowed after good play form Lewis Watson and Thomas Whalley, With Bridge coming more and more into the game, Timbers back line of Evans,Cumpper,Murphy and Jenkins kept NKw chances to a minimum and Watson and Ste Hickson on the right were the ones doing damage and created good chances but Stuey Kirby in the NKW goal was equal to it and NKW went in at half time 1 goal up. After a halt time team talk from Cunningham and Porter, Bridge reacted and were quick out the blocks and 48 minutes in and after good work from Hickson on the left, A corner was awarded, Mike Chesters pinpoint cross to the back post was headed home from Andy Gott to give Bridge a deserved equaliser. Three minutes later Ste Hickson turned Timmy Dickson, and altho there seemed to be little contact, a penalty was awarded. With Ste Coady and Liam Sweeney not on the pitch, Jamie Cumpper placed the ball on the spot and slammed the ball home for 2-1. Nkw then had a 15 minute spell with lots of posession, and altho Dickson had a good header on target, Mike Chesters was in the right place for Bridge and cleared the ball off the line. Lewis Watson started to control the midfield and his quick pass out to Hickson nearly gave Bridge another goal but Kirby saved well before Bridge introduced Jordan Neary into the fray and after a neat ball from Andy Gott, Neary showed his pace and un selfishly played in Karl Thomas to find the corner for 3-1. Bridge Timbers man of the match went to Lewis Watson.

Bridge go out after late drama

Holders Barley scraped through aftger a tough tie against Bridge Timber after extra time. In the 10th minute Lewis Watsons good run ended with Andy Gotts excellent 30 yard shot, Mayers in the Barley goal making a great save to keep it 0-0. Bridge Timber then took the lead after a crunching tackle on Liam sweeney in the 31st minute was waved on by ref Nick Vaughan, After playing the advantage, Karl Thomas chipped Mayers in the Barley goal from 25 yards for 1-0. Barley had a lot of posession late in the 1st half but couldnt make it count with Cumpper,Evans,Murphy,Jenkins and Rockcliffe in the Bridge goal all doing well in thwarting Barleys attacks. The equaliser came in the 55th minute when Daz Moore fired home from the spot after a foul by Evans and despite Bridge having a good shout for handball themselves in the 68th minute, Ian Rockcliffe in the Bridge goal was called in to action, after saving well, his long ball upfield to Karl Thomas put Bridge back in fornt after controlling the ball, turning the defender inside out, Thomas skillfully lifted the ball over Mayers for 2-1. Barley again drew level after a goalmouth scramble and in the 88th minute, Bridge nearly won it after Ste Hicksons freekick which was bound for the top corner was parried out by Mayers to take the game into extra time. Karl Thomas was then brought down by Dean Wooley in the 95th minute and Liam Sweeneys spot kick was fired into the top corner to give Bridge the lead, Mike Chesters was then judged to have fouled near the half way line, John Mcdonald flicking home the resulting freekick from 10 yards to level it up. Barley then wrapped the game up in the 105ht minute to take them through to meet Tricorn in the Semi final. Lee Evans was man of the match for Bridge.
