In a very tight 1st half Bridge and Tricorn both only had 1 decent chance each, Jamie Cumpper clearing from off his own goal line after Timbers defence let Cauley in and Karl Jenkins bringing a good save from John Barnes in the Tricorn goal to keep it 0-0 at the break. Bridge slowly started to get the better in the 2nd period with Liam sweeney and Josh Smith both seeing shots blocked and Ricky Thompson agonisingly saw his shot debatably cleard off the line in which caused some confusion as it appeared to be on the line. Extra time was played and with each side keeping it tight, it was inevitable it would go to penalties. Ricky Thompson and Lewis Watson both scored theres but Bridge were knocked out with Linnet,Tony Lunt, Jay Cauley and Lee Bignell scoring to take Tricorn through. Jamie Cumpper was Bridge Timbers man of the match, With Paul Gumbs getting it for Tricorn.

Bridge's poor finishing costs them the points.

Bridge maintained top spot despite slipping up against rivals ebl. Bridge started the better and Jordan Neary and Liam Sweeney both had shots that flew wide of the post after being put through by Andy edgar and Josh Smith before Danny Cummins for ebl saw his shot fly high and wide in the 7th minute.Andy Edgar saw his free kick whistle over the bar in the 23rd minute and ebl themselves were unlucky not to score when Dean walker hit the upright before Bridge cleared and went on the attack again, Bridge then created the best chance of the game, with Andy Edgar putting Liam Sweeney clear and his shot flew wide. Bridge then again had hard luck when Josh Smiths shot was blocked at the last minute before Lewis Watsons brilliant through ball sent Edgar through but ebl's keeper saved well, Then ebl took the lead right before the half time whistle against the run of play when Reece Conlan lashed home from 18 yards out . Paul spence was introduced on the hour and immediately caused problems, his shot ws again blocked to give Bridge a corner.Karl Jenkins linked up well with Edgar whose return pass just got cleared before Jenkins could get a shot in. in the 64th minute, Walker put ebl 2 up with a turn and shot and with Bridge still dominating the game, they created many chances i which they couldnt convert.Andy edgar pulled a goal back in the 87th minute but despite creating 3 more chances in the dying minutes ebl held on for the win, Bridge created by far the most chances in the game but ebls finishing was the difference between the team,Timbers backline of Robbie Davis, David Sheaky, Ray Mcdonald, Peter Murphy and Chris Ellams limited them to a few chances but poor finishing lost Bridge the game .Andy edgar was Bridges man of the match.

Bridge held away at Reos

Bridge started this game against the strong Reos side well, and within 10 minutes had a good chance when Jordan Nearys shot flew wide after Liam Sweeney put him clear. Andy Edgar then nearly came close after Josh Smith skillfully put him through, Reos keeper bravely diving at his feet to keep it 0-0. Reos then had a shot blocked by David Sheakey who threw his body in the way to block Ste Lathams shot before Liam Sweeney danced through past 2 defenders and smashed the ball across the Reos goaline, only to see it go to safety. 25 minutes in Lewis Watsons menacing cross as headed goal wards by Liam Sweeney, Reos keeper diving full stretch and brilliantly saving to keep it deadlocked and 0-0 at half time. Lewis Watson then had a long range effort saved before Si Burton had a good chance for Reos which also flew past the post. On the hour mark Reos took the lead when Ste Lathams well hit shot found the bottom corner to give the home side a 1-0 lead. Bridge retaliated with Lewis Watson bringing another good save from Tony Kelshaw before Andy Stringer, i the Bridge goal saved brilliantly from Kev Towey who was clear on goal after finding space but after trying to take it round the keeper, Stringer brilliantly claimed the ball and sent Bridge on the attack, Andy Edgar received the ball and made space for himself and smashed the ball home to equalize from just inside the box. Jordan Neary and Liam Sweeney both brought excellent saves from Kelshaw in the dying minutes but overall, a draw was a worthy result. David Sheaky was Bridge Timbers man of the match with an outstanding dispaly at the heart of Timbers defence

Bridge Timber cut Elton down to size

Bridge swept aside a decent Elton team to progress to the Runcorn Cup semi final with a good 4-0 win. Elton started the better and went close in the 11th minute with Adam Beech in the Timber goal having it covered and watcheing it go wide. Bridge then settled and started some neat passing and went ahead when Wes Farringtons wicked corner was scrambled away and predator Alan Bond skillfully headed over the keeper from 10 yards to give Bridge the lead. In the 20th minute Timber extended their lead with a well worked move, Liam Sweeney playing a good one two with Alan Bond who then crossed for Sweeney to side foot home from 12 yards to give the keeper no chance. Sweeney then started the move for goal number 3, setting Josh Smith down the left hand side, Smith danced past the defender and pulled the ball back for Alan Bond to fire home his 2nd and Timbers 3rd. Karl Jenkins then scored the 4th with a great free kick from 25 yards out, the keeper watching helplessly as it found the corner. The 2nd half was a closer affair with Elton having a good share of posession, Adam Beech making 2 fine saves to keep the score at 4-0, and with Bridge losing Wes Farrington and Ray Mcdonald through injury early in both halves, Timbers backline of Jamie Cumpper, David sheakey and Chris Ellams all stood firm to take Timber through to the semi final. Bridge Timbers man of the match was David Sheakey who started in midfield before switching to the back and having a great all round game.

Bridge Timber chop down Oak Lads

Bridge maintained top position with a good all round display against Oak Lads, With Bridge having a full 16 to choose from the starting eleven flew at Oak straight form the off and after only 4 minutes took the lead after Lewis Watsons defence splitting ball was skillfully chested down by Josh Smith and he unleashed a tremendous shot into the top corner for 1-0. Robbie Davis, whose solid defending has earned him much praise over the last few months, turned provider with a great pass through to Alan Bond who ran on from the half way line, turned 2 defenders and delightfully curled the ball home from the edge of the box for 2-0. Ricky Thompson then received the ball on the half way line from Davis, then expertly ran past 3 defenders before side footing home in the corner for 3-0. A great team move created number 4, after Ray McDonald, Lee Evans, and Robbie Davis all linked up well before finding smith on the left, he made time and neatly passed square to Bond to tap home from close range for 4-0. Wes Farringtons good delivery from the right was volleyed goal wards by Karl Jenkins and after seeing his shot blocked, Alan Bond reacted quickly and turned the ball home to give timber a 5 nil half time lead.

Cheshire Cup round 3

Despite many games being called off Bridge Timber managed to play their Cheshire cup round 3 game against Ellesmere ports Bull Groves. Bridge started well and had the majority of the play in the first half With Jamie Cumpper going close in the 15th minute with a long range effort and Karl Jenkins went on a rampaging run in the 27th minute, swinging in the ball and bringing a good save from the bull keeper, Jordan Neary was quick to react and brought another save before the ball was scrambled away to safety. Emergency goalkeeper Chris Ellams saved easily in the 36th minute to keep the score 0-0 at the break. Bull Groves came out with more urgency in the 2nd half and put Bridge under pressure and the game swung from end to end with Lewis Watson supplying a good through ball for Ray Mcdonald to get a shot away which unfortunately never tested the keeper . Bull then went up the other end and scored after a long range shot was scrambled home from close range to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. Bridge then saw a great Lee Parry run form just inside his own half, leaving 3 opponents i his wake before seeing his shot blocked on the edge of the box, Parry again had a great run in the 72nd minute again to see his shot closed down and Lewis Watson again put in a good cross for Mcdonald to flick the ball goal wards which was ushered wide by the keeper. Bridge put Bull under pressure with lots of possession and duly got the equaliser they deserved when Ricky Thompson's 25 yard free kick flew in just under the bar to make it 1-1 in the 85th minute. Chris Ellams claimed the ball well in the last minute from a BUll Groves corner and the game went to extra time. Lewis Watson had a good volley which just flew past the post and Ricky Thompson also brought a good save out of the Groves keeper before they hit Bridge on the break and went ahead with a great strike in the 98th minute to make it 2-1. With the heavy pitch no taking its toll on both teams, the game was swinging form end to end, Lee Evans, Robbie Davis, Karl Jenkins and Peter Murphy tirelessly thwarting Bull Groves attacks with Davis going up front to add extra fire power as they tried to get the equaliser, Lee Parry again came close with a good shot but Groves held on to go through to round 4 where they meet holders Queens Park. Lee Parry was Bridge Timbers man of the match.

Bridge Score 5 without reply at Waterloo.

Waterlooville F.C. 0 Bridge Timber F.C. 5 Bridge were the dominant side from the off with Ricky Thompson, Robbie Davis and Lee Parry going close with good efforts before Liam Sweeney broke the deadlock in the 20th minute after Ricky Thompson's menacing cross was headed home from 10 yards to give Timber a well deserved lead. Sweeney then again came very close to doubling Timbers lead with a fierce shot that just flew past the post. Waterloo had a shot of their own in the 38th minute, Timbers keeper Chris Thompson saving easily before finding Sweeney with a 50 yard ball for Bridge to attack with the waterloo keeper saving well. Karl Jenkins was having a good solid game at full back and accurately found Ray Mcdonald in the box and he neatly headed home to give Bridge a 2 goal lead at the break. Waterloo had a great chance to pull a goal back from the re start, Chris Thompson saving well before Peter Murphy cleared it off the line before Ricky Thompson danced round 4 waterloo players before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the corner for 3-0. Jordan Neary then scored a great goal, lobbing the keeper from 25 yards after Karl Jenkins found Mcdonald in space on the edge of the box before laying it off for Neary to delightfully find the net for number 4. Ray Mcdonald then struck the cross bar in the 80th minute and Peter Murphy was just shielded from the ball before it was cleared for a corner. With the game going from end to end, Chris Thompson again saved well to keep yet another clean sheet for Bridge before Ray Mcdonald scored goal number 5 in the final minutes to wrap up a comprehensive win for Bridge, Ricky Thompson was awarded man of the match for Bridge .

Bridge Timber cut Quayside down to size

Runcorn sunday cup - round 1 Bridge Timber F.C. 6 Quayside F.C. 0 Bridge were staright off the blocks to attack quayside and after 5 minutes Bridge were 1 up after Wes Farringtons pass put Liam Sweeney clean through, his first touch set himself up and he smashed the ball inside the near post for his 1st of the season. 9 minutes in and Ricky Thompson whipped in a free kick that narrowly flashed wide before Quayside had a long range effort in the 22nd minute in which Timber keeper Chris Thompson safely watched go wide.
