West Bank undertook the long journey to Barrow quietly confident they could extend their recent good form and despite a debilitating delayed arrival soon got the scoring underway.

Shaun Attwood crossed in the corner from the Bears first attack and strong defence stopped the home team from advancing little beyond the half way line. Eventually however a towering bomb wasn’t dealt with and Askam registered their only score of the first half.

Despite overwhelming field position it wasn’t until the half hour that Luke Willings powered his way over to restore advantage to the Bank and the same player then sprinted 70 metres to touch down after picking up a loose ball. David Jones converted both to bring up a 16 – 6 half time lead for the Bears.

Jones was first to score in the second half to reassert West Bank’s dominance followed closely by the try of the match.

Ryan Millington was finding a lot of success taking on the home team line and one such burst took him clear. Jack Murphey carried on the break and found the supporting Ste Curphey. As he was going to ground his one handed pass was taken by Millington for a thrilling touchdown. Jones converted.

Askam then found a way back scoring two very good try through Chris Vanclone and Ben Lewney but Jones scattered the defence to finish the scoring.

Millington was a deserved MoM but Ryan Bates and Jones also received the praise of the hosts but Stu Harland, Rhys Ashall and Tommy Arrowsmith were also outstanding for the Bank.
