Tributes pour in for Halton View man who has died suddenly

TRIBUTES are being paid to a young Widnes man who died suddenly yesterday after being hit by a train.

He is being named locally as 24-year-old Carl Walsh from Halton View.

The accident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning near Edge Hill station in Liverpool.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “Just after 1am on Sunday, December 18, British Transport Police received a report of a person having been struck by a train near to Edge Hill station, Liverpool.

“Police and paramedics attended the scene and the body of a man, believed to be 24 and from Widnes, was found. He was declared dead at the scene.

“Formal identification has yet to be completed and officers are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.”

His stunned friends are paying tribute on twitter and social network sites.

Jenny Donoghue, age 23, said: “I actually feel cold right through my body, had a drink with Carl last Saturday. Thoughts are with Carl’s family and friends.”

Paul Roberts, said: “Still can’t get my head round this one but sleep tight Walshy.”

Michelle McPartland, said: “RIP Walshy will b sadly missed still can’t believe it. Such a lovely kind hearted lad.”

Hannah Finnigan, added: “RIP Washy. U Always put smiles on everyone’s faces.”

Absolutely devastated! Can't believe I won't see that famous dancing ever again or get one of your massive hugs. Gutted doesn't come close to how we're all feeling right now. this morning at 9.30am there was a lovely old tree in the square in coronet way widnes.
11.00am all there is left is a stump.
three guys turned up with a wagon and down it went into a shredder.
no explanation from anywhere to the residents of the area.
it never seemed a risk to anyone and was a healthy tree so why was it felled
