RUNCORN lost to Barnoldswick Town in the FA Vase first round proper at The Millbank Linnets Stadium on Saturday.
They were defeated in extra time after the game had ended 2-2 after 90 minutes.
A Barnoldswick player, their manager and Runcorn’s Kev Towey were sent off in an eight-minute spell at the back end of the first half.
The score was 1-1 before the referee started brandishing cards.
The visitors had gone ahead in the 11th minute but Rob Whyte equalised for Linnets seven minutes later.
Sean Pearson put the Linnets ahead for the first time in the 75th minute.
But Barnoldswick were back on level terms two minutes later before winning the game from the penalty spot in extra time.
