Northwich 22 Widnes 17.
WIDS came away with a bonus point after a narrow defeat at near neighbours Northwich.
The visitors were in this one right to the death, and if two Kevin Leadbetter penalties had gone over instead of hitting the woodwork, the result could have been different.
The visitors were in front with an early penalty before Northwich took the lead with a try.
Dave Welsh then scored a try converted by Leadbetter, before Northwich hit back with a converted try just before the break.
They added to their tally with a third score just on 50 minutes, before Andrew Riley replied after good work from Michael Lamb.
With the margin now just two points, Leadbetter was unlucky enough to hit the post twice before the home side finally secured victory with a late penalty
