BEARS welcomed their first visitors of their debut season in the NCL.
Without ever hitting the free flowing rugby of recent weeks the Bears gradually established a clear first half superiority to lead 22-0 at the break.
First on the scoresheet for the home team was Mickey Kelly who chased down an inch perfect kick from Dave Jones. Jones converted from wide out.
Chris Walsh broke from 40 metres out and determined running saw him touchdown under the sticks.
Man of the Match Evan Simon continued his rich vein of form to touchdown next and the returning Mark Hardman finished off a nice move for the half’s final score.
Shaun McDermott’s refusal to submit to the tackle paid dividends for the supporting Ryan Bates to move West Bank into a commanding position but tries from Danny Duce and Kenny Kitchen where fair reward for a Stanley team that never backed down.
A conversion from Danny Grice brought the score back to 28-10 but the Bears had the final word when the outstanding Josh Simm finished off good approach work.
Jones five conversions brought up the final score.
