Widnes earn 17 points from draw with Heaton Mersey

WIDNES failed to win a high scoring game at Heaton Mersey but claimed 17 points to stay 11 ahead of third-placed Sale in Cheshire County Cricket League Division One.

Widnes declared on 247-4, Narender Singh Negi scoring 95 and Danny Naughton 55.

Mersey also batted well but had their last men in at the closing score of 230-9.

Gautam Narayan top-scored with 78, Ollie Driver 53 not out and Hassan Rashid 35. Danny Moore took 4-83.
