Season’s best for O’Neill

WIDNES racer Paul O’Neill celebrated a season-best finish in the British Touring Cars Championship’s latest round at Snetterton on Sunday.

He finished in second place behind points leader Mat Jackson (Airwaves Ford Focus) in the day’s third race to cap a fine weekend behind the wheel of GoMobileUK.com with Tech-Speed’s Chevrolet Cruze.

Ninth fastest in qualifying on Saturday, O’Neill battled to seventh and fifth-place finishes in the afternoon’s first two races before passing pole-sitter Dave Newsham (Special Tuning Racing SEAT Leon) at the hairpin to chase Jackson later on.

He left Norfolk sitting tenth in the drivers’ standings as a result.
